Avid reader, part time gamer. I read and review books for other readers, not for authors. I review mostly M/M books, so if that doesn't float your boat, well, there are other boats in the sea, other reviewers in this great blogosphere!
This book has a lot of elements that aren't always favorites of mine, but they all blended together perfectly, to make an awesome story. It's historical, horror, paranormal, and mystery, all with a brilliant love story beneath it all. I always love characters like Percival Whyborne, the ones who feel like they just don't fit in and somehow are unworthy. I hurt for them when they hurt, and I'm happy when they realize they really are worth loving.
The mystery/horror plot was also very well done, keeping me guessing right up til the end, and those monsters were truly horrifying!
